Ron was born in Pensacola, Florida and lived in Mobile County, Alabama. He attended KJ Clark Middle School and Vigor High School where he was a member of the marching band. After graduation, Ron joined the military and moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he served as Master Sergeant and Machine Shop Supervisor at the 117th Air National Guard Unit located at the Birmingham International Airport.
During his 33 years of service, he was deployed to many locations around the world, including Europe, Turkey and Guam where he enjoyed the local scenery and culture. During his travels, he developed a hobby of scuba diving and enjoyed viewing the undersea creatures and beautiful underwater environment.
Ron also grew up with a love of all things outdoors including fishing, boating, hunting and trail riding. He was a member of the Rabon Sportsman Hunting Club in Baldwin County, Alabama where he considered everyone a friend and enjoyed many days in the woods experiencing the sights and sounds of nature.
Ron was a loving and generous man who held his family and friends very dear to his heart and was always willing to use his many "fix-it" skills to help out when needed. In his retirement, he enjoyed vacationing with family and spending time with his loved ones. He had a great sense of humor, liked to joke around and laugh as much as possible.
Ron was a loving and caring husband and is survived by his wife, Leslie Stewart. He was a loving and proud father
The family also wishes to thank family, friends, and all others who prayed for him during his illness. Each and every one of those prayers were greatly appreciated. As we say goodbye to Ron here on Earth, we know and rejoice that he is now free of illness and pain and is in heaven with our Creator where we hope to join him someday. God bless his family and friends during this time and help us all remember Ron as a wonderful and precious soul who touched so many lives. In Jesus' Holy name, Amen.
