She was a 1965 graduate of Oneida High School and employed by Oneida Limited Silversmiths for 39 years in various positions.
She is survived by a sister of Vernon, a brother of North Carolina, a special niece and nephew of Rome, whom she resided with for a few years until her illness. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews as well as great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Charlene will always be remembered for her fun loving try it at least once attitude ready to travel outlook on life. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
She was predeceased by her longtime significant other Joseph Santillo, parents Donald Gardner and Elinor Vanvleck Gardner, brother Ronald Gardner, sister-in-law Louise Gardner and brother-in-law Donald Seamon.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff on Wing 2 at the Grand in Rome for their kind and compassionate care of Charlene while she resided there.
A graveside service will be held in the spring in West Verona Cemetery, Verona, NY.
