Laurie Lynne Taylor, age 63, of Lebanon, Tennessee, went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2020, after a brave journey with Alzheimer's disease.
Laurie was born on July 6, 1956, to Peggy Bellar Evans and Robert Thomas Evans. She was married on May 1, 1977 at First Baptist Church, Lebanon, Tennessee to Terry D. Taylor of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Laurie was a devoted wife, homemaker, and mother to Carrie Beth and Jeremy, and served God faithfully in her calling as a music minister's wife.
Laurie is survived by her husband, Terry D. Taylor, two children, Carrie Beth Taylor and Jeremy Taylor (Christy); three grandchildren, Cayden Champion, IsaBeall and Hudson Taylor; two sisters, Lisa (Benny) Nolen and Susan (Marc) Huddleston; and her mother, Peggy Bellar Evans. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Russell Evans, and her father, Robert Thomas Evans.
The visitation and memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 29, 2020. Visitation is from noon until 2 p.m., and the Celebration of Life service begins at 2 p.m. The visitation and service both will be held at Laurie's home church, 227 East Main Street, Lebanon, TN., 37087.

First and foremost, Laurie was a devoted wife, homemaker, and mother to Carrie Beth and Jeremy. She had a unique way of making children feel loved. During her "empty nest" years, she became a nanny for two professional families, nurturing their children as faithfully as she did her own. Laurie became a favorite Mom of the Phi Mu Sorority at the University of Alabama while Carrie Beth was an active member. She was an extraordinarily gifted crafts person who found great joy in creating various craft items, including baby swaddling blankets, which she continued to create until recently. She had a talented eye for interior design and an uncommon affection for beautiful furniture and antiques. She never met a chair she didn't love. She had a knack for bargain hunting. If everyone had shopped with the same money-saving savvy as Laurie, the economy might have gone into bankruptcy.
Laurie served God faithfully in her calling as a music minister's wife. She directed preschool choirs for over 30 years, impacting the lives of countless children. She sang soprano in the choir and as a soloist. She was known for designing attention-getting window displays in church libraries. True to her red hair and fiery temperament, she did not shy away from the challenges of life and ministry. Terry often declared, in her presence and to her delight, "She's not always right, but she's never in doubt." Laurie displayed a huge heart of generosity, especially when a child or young person was in need.
