Alicia Rae Bane, 23, of Richmond, Ohio went home to be with the lord Wednesday, January 31, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born September 17, 1983 in Wheeling, WV. Alicia attended Crossroads Christian Church. She graduated as a honor student of Indian Creek High School Class of 2002 where she was a cheerleader and played volleyball and softball. Alicia attended Jefferson Community College where she received an associate degree in business then furthered her education at Kent State where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. She helped with the American Cancer Society Walk for Life and was active in the Mingo Sportsman Club. Surviving are her parents James R. and Jodi L. Ballas Bane with whom she resided; brother Aaron J. Bane a student at Washington & Jefferson College; maternal grandparents Joseph and Charlene Mueller Ballas of Henderson, NV; paternal grandmother Joanne Bonacci Bane of Wintersville, OH; paternal grandfather Herman Bane of Brilliant, OH; aunt Stephanie (John) Abdalla of Richmond, OH; cousin Austin Abdalla; her faithful companions Kudos and Snickers; and many loving friends. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home in Wintersville Friday from 12 noon - 9 p.m. with family present from 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 p.m. and Saturday at Wintersville United Methodist Church from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. with Rev. John Rasz officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial donations may be directed to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh; American Cancer Society, Jefferson County Chapter; or Valley Hospice.
