Obituary
Friends and relatives will regret the passing of Roy Casey, prominent citizen of Victoria Beach, Annapolis County, whose death occurred at his home on Tuesday, August 14, from the effects of a stroke. He was born at Victoria Beach 68 years ago, and except for a few years in the USA and Western Canada, spent his entire life there. He was the youngest son of the late Deacon and Mrs Henry Casey. For a number of years, Mr Casey operated his own business, buying and processing fish. He was an active member of the Victoria Beach United Baptist Church and served as church trustee for many years. For a number of years he acted as secretary of Victoria Beach school section. The deceased is survived by his widow, the former Myrtle Ellis of Victoria Beach. His only son, Kenneth Casey, BSc, MA, died one year ago at the age of 26 years. Three brothers, Walton, Ansell and John Casey and a sister Mrs Charles Haynes predeceased him. Also surviving are 3 nephews: Joseph Casey, LeRoy Haynes and Earl Casey and 3 nieces, Mrs Claude Olmstead, Mrs Paul Lorice and Miss Beulah Haynes. Funeral was form the Victoria Beach United Baptist Church, Reverend Dr AJ Archibald officiating, assisted by Reverend RW Lindsay. Interment took place in Port Wade Cemetery, at which the members of the Masonic Order to which he has belonged for a number of years had charge of the service.
