He worked in carpet mills in Dalton, retiring from J & J. He was preceded in death by his mother and stepfather, Hazel and Charlie Hayes; and wife of 36 years, Barbara Townsend Pike. Surviving are his three sons, Mark (Keri) Pike of Summerville, GA, Tim (Misti) Pike of Tellico Plains, TN, John Jr. (Robin) Pike of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Faith, Hope, T J, Mason, Brooklyn and Caleb; great granddaughter, Kara; brother, Ted (Judy) Hayes of Turtletown, TN; and sisters, Fay Pike Carolin of San Antonio, TX, Anita (Jerry) Shoemaker of Dalton, GA, Bobby Jean Hayes of Ranger, GA, and Rita Hayes of Ranger, GA.
