Mrs. Mildred Virginia Wagoner Shelton Collins, 101, of Winston-Salem, passed away at the Salemtowne Moravian Home.

Mrs. Collins was born in Surry County on December 22, 1919 to the late Percy Miles and Hattie Mae Watts Wagoner.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby Shelton Laney, Diane Shelton Fox and husband Jimmy, Rosemary Shelton Jones and husband Alton; one daughter-in-law, Winnie Shelton; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one brother, William "Bill" Wagoner and wife Geraldine; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph William "Pete" Shelton; one son Larry Dallas Shelton; one son-in-law, Keith Laney; one grandson, Vince Rogers, and one great-grandson, Zackary Shelton; her second husband, Gerald Rupert Collins.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Skyline Memory Gardens with Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the family.
