Mr. Billy Ray "Bill" Allen age 82, passed away Monday at the Smithfield Manor in Smithfield. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM-Monday, June 19, 2017 at Rose & Graham Funeral Chapel in Four Oaks. Burial will follow in Sandy Grove Community Cemetery, Angier, NC. Officiating will be Revs. Louis Godwin and Seth Allen.
Mr. Allen was born in Johnston County on March 19, 1935 to the late David Monroe and Lyda Partin Allen. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Leah Smith, Lovenia Roberts, Louise Simmons, Ann Underwood, Ellie Ruth Tyler and Eunice Otto, brothers, S.D. Allen and Tommy Allen. Mr. Allen retired from Sears. After retirement he worked for Deacon Jones Auto Park in Smithfield. Bill loved people and enjoyed playing music with all his many friends. He was a member of Hopewell Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving include wife of 56 years, Mary Edwards Allen; son, Richard Gary "Ricky" Allen and wife, Vikki of Texas; grandsons, Garrett and Gunner Allen of Texas; brother, Jesse Monroe Allen of Georgia; many nieces and nephews.
