David LeRoy Hill, 71 of Columbus, KS died at 12:55 a.m. Monday October 29, 2007 at his home in Columbus.

He was born January 11, 1936 in Auburn, NE the son of George C. and Thelma P. Humphery Hill. He moved to Columbus at an early age and attended Columbus schools.

David married Mary Jane McCormick on September 26, 1953 in Columbus; she survives at the home.

He worked as a painter for LaForge and Bud Parsons and also played guitar in the Mike Parise Band and other bands.

David was a member of the Sherwin Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home; 2 sons David L. Hill and wife Becky of Scammon, Chester R. Hill and wife Diana of Columbus; 4 sisters Beverly Richardson of Arkansas City, Barbara Wright of Mindenmines, MO, Sharon Matson of Girard, Jackie Coy of Columbus; 9 grandchildren-Jason, James, Tim, Angela, Amanda, Cassy, Carly, Summer and Jessica; 13 Great-grandchildren Jeramiah, Brody, Joe, Matthew, Shawna, Briley, Kaytlin, Megan, Allison, Abbeygale, Andrea, Kaylee and Leslie; daughter-in-law Lori Hill of Scammon and a friend Steve Guison of Scammon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Timothy J. Hill a Great-granddaughter Gracie LeAnn Hill and a sister Icle Tiffany.
