Dennis Erling Holm, age 81, passed away Monday February 27, 2017 peacefully in his sleep at home. A celebration of life will be March 4, 2017, at 11 am at the Pine Haven Country Club with full military honors by American Legion Post 42 Drill Team. A potluck luncheon will follow at "R" Place in Pine Haven. A committal services will be Monday March 6, 2017 for both Dennis and Sharon at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, 2pm.Dennis was born July 19, 1935 to Erling Holm and Anne Anderson; he was raised with his brother David in Minnesota. Dennis joined the Navy in 1954. After leaving the Navy with an honorable discharge, he married Betty Jane Stahke in 1958. Together they had 4 children, Keith, Brian, Stacy and Eric. The family moved to Gillette in 1974. Dennis was working for Campbell County Road and Bridge. In 1980 Dennis and Betty Jane divorced. Dennis became a member of the American Legion Post 42 and was a Drill Team member. In 1981 Dennis married Betty Zane, after a few years they also divorced; Dennis continued working for the County and took the position at the county landfill. While working at the landfill he hired Sharon Whiteman who became his wife in 1988. In 1996 the couple moved to Pine Haven, after a short time Dennis retired from Campbell County and took on some misc jobs. As an avid golfer, knowing how the course should be groomed, he then took the position of grounds keeper at the Pine Haven Country Club where he was still employed at the time of his death. Dennis and his bride Sharon were pretty much inseparable. They loved boating, fishing, camping, and traveling to many different places. Dennis enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Lynsey when she would come out and visit in the summer and spending time with his adopted family (everyone called him dad). Dennis was well known for his blade shaping skills and his woodwork. Dennis will be deeply missed by both family and friends.Dennis is survived by his 4 children, 7 grand children and 7 great grand children.Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, brother, David and his bride of 28 yrs. Sharon.In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be made to Keyhole Country Club. Memorials and Condolences may be sent in Dennis' name to the family in care of Gillette Memorial Chapel, 210 West 5th Street, Gillette, WY 82716.

Holm, David J. DeFOREST - David J. Holm, age 68, died Tuesday, November 28, 2000, at University Hospital in Madison. David John Holm was born on November 19, 1932, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Erling and Anne (Anderson) Holm. On May 24, 1958, he was united in marriage with Emily Thorne in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. David served in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean War. He worked for IBM out of Madison for 35 years. Survivors include his wife, Emily Holm of DeForest; two children, Thomas (Connie) Holm of Tell City, Indiana, and Holly (Alan) Ruben-stein of Buffalo Grove, Illinois; his granddaughter, Gillian Ru-benstein; a brother, Dennis Holm of Wyoming; and other relatives and friends. David was preceded in death by his parents. Private services will be held. The family suggests that memorials be made in David's name to the Audubon Society.
