On Thursday, April 8, 2021, Jack Dale Baker, passed away at the age of 85. Jack was born on October 17, 1935, in Olton, TX, to Thelma and Elmer Baker. Jack joined the army in 1953 as a medic, and continued on with the reserves. After his military career, Jack and his family moved to Ft. Knox, KY where he worked as a medical technician. The Columbus Day hurricane in 1962 brought Jack to Portland where he met his best friend, Sonya Rose; they were married in 1964 and set down roots in the Beaver State. Jack retired in 1997.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, and his sons Mark and Matt. He is survived by his dear wife Sonya, his daughter, Tanna, his son Jeffrey, his grandchildren, Scott, Brett, Duncan, Riley, Garrett, Piper, Jason, Jeromy, Morgan, Robyn, and Stephanie as well as 11 great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held on April 17, 2021, at the Hillsboro Presbyterian Church, 172 NE 32ndAvenue at 11 a.m.
