April Christina Torres, age 53, passed away peacefully on March 26, surrounded by loved ones. She was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and friend, who was adored by all that she encountered.
April was born on April 14, 1967 to Antonio and Ernestine Torres in Bakersfield, CA. She attended Frank West and Stockdale Elementary Schools, Actis Junior High and graduated from Bakersfield High School in 1985.
April's greatest joy was being surrounded by friends and family. She enjoyed playing cards, dice, telling stories, doing crafts, baking and watching a good movie or TV show.
She was preceded in death by her father, Antonio: her beloved aunts, Diana Santa Cruz and Linda Hernandez and various other loving aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents.
April is survived by her mother, Ernestine Torres (her pop, Baldo Lomas) brother Matthew (Tina), and her special cousin (sister) Adrian Santa Cruz. The family wishes to extend a deep appreciation to April's cousins, Adrian Santa Cruz, Gigi Cardial and Stephanie Mendoza, for such loving care when April's health severely declined. In addition, April's loved ones wanted to send much gratitude to Bristol Hospice for their care and responsiveness during April's greatest time of need.
A graveside service will take place on April 16th at 10 a.m. at Union Cemetery.
