She married (1) Grover Cleveland Capps in Chereokee County, Oklahoma, on 24 June 1912. They were the parents of four children born before 1920. Grover Capps died 2 Jun 1920 in Oklahoma.
Kathryn married (2) William Henry Griffith in the late 1920s. William Henry Griffith's first wife, Leana (Rogers) Griffith died in 1922 in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. It is not clear where William Henry and Kathryn were married, but they were married before 1930 when the U.S. Census records the family of William Henry Griffith with his wife Kathryn, and she was identified as his wife. The family was living in Carlsbad, Eddy County, New Mexico in 1930, and included their first child, Robert Dean born in 1930. (The census gives his age as 1/12 meaning he was born in March 1930 since the census was taken in April of that year.) The four children of Kathryn and Grover Cleveland Capps are identified with the Capps surname and are identified as step-children of William Henry Griffith.
The Griffith family moved from New Mexico to the Texas-Louisiana border area shortly after 1930. In 1935, they were living in Smith County in eastern Texas according to the 1940 U.S. Census. The second child of William Henry and Kathryn Melissa Griffith was born in Louisiana in 1934. By 1940 the family was in Sacramento County, California. William Henry died 26 October 1956 in San Joaquin County, and he is buried there. Kathryn Melissa died 15 Jun 1985, just a few days short of her 92nd birthday, in Fresno County.
