Mrs. Henrietta "Etta" Flanagan Hurst, 67, died Sunday (October 28, 2007) at the Satilla Regional Medical Center after an extended illness.
She was a native of Gainesville, GA but resided most of her life in Atlanta before moving to Waycross in 1984. Her parents, Edgar Thomas Flanagan and Rene Mell Teal Bennett, a daughter, Rene Elizabeth Eubanks preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pentecostal House of Prayer.
The survivors include her husband, Cecil Hurst of Waycross; a daughter, Sherri Hurst Dyal (husband Greg) of Waycross; seven sons, Wayne Wilson (wife Audrey) of Waycross, Toney Wilson (wife Denise) of Powder Springs, Junior Wilson (wife Teresa) of Waycross, Michael Wilson (wife Lisa)of Manor, Jerrell Wilson (wife Windy) of Blackshear, David Wilson (wife Sylvia) of Modesto, CA and Brad Hurst of Waycross; 28 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; two sisters, Faye Gilley of Waycross and Martha Gilley of Stevenson, AL; a step-father, William Bennett of Waycross.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
