Red, number 7 of 11, was born November 1, 1954 in Kingsville, Texas to J.O. "Pud" and Mary Christine Yaklin Robertson. He is survived by Debi, their beloved schnauzer Duece, his 3 daughters from his first wife Laura, Amanda (Martin) Schubert of Kingsville, TX, Lauren (Robert) Robertson of Grapevine, TX, Katie (Clifton) Addkison of Denton TX, granddaughter Emma(8) and grandson Edward (5) Schubert, his brothers Tom (Dona), Bruce, Tim (Diane), his sisters Verna (David) Pinkerd Connie Robertson Boring, Rita (Rick) Fry, loving nieces and nephews too numerous to name, very special friends N. G. Cotton, Mark Lunaas, Buck Snow, and Leslie Cotton Robertson Hickman.
Red was preceded in death by his parents Pud and Mary, brothers Johnny Lee, Willie, and Gaylord, sister Jeri, niece Shelly and nephew Willie Jon Robertson.
Red attended school in Riviera, Texas, enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1972 and was Honorably discharged in 1973. He took a job for a bit on the Braugh Ranch (Red always figured he was born a hundred years late). Then he got into WELDING! He became a pipeline welder and fabricator in 1975 and thus began the life he loved that took him down the highways and right-of-ways from coast to coast and border to border, making a great multitude of friends along the way. He had a passion for music, songwriting, singing and playing guitar. He would sing and play anywhere and everywhere and played as hard as he worked.
These last few years of his life he got to slow down and enjoy being a Grandpa. He will be greatly missed.
Graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at 10 a.m. at Vattman Cemetery.
