Samuel Lee Walker, the son of the late Samuel B. and the late Ruth Walker. Samuel was born on May 2, 1948. He acquired his formal education in New York City. Samuel re-met his third-grade classmate Jacqueline Williams at 16 years old. Samuel and Jacqueline were married in September 1966. To this union two children were born.
Samuel and his family moved to Coram, New York in 1978, there they became members of Christ Baptist Church. Samuel was employed by New York Telephone Company which through transitions was renamed Verizon. He worked in the communication field for 36 years at which time he retired. Samuel and his wife, Jacqueline moved to Fredericksburg, VA in 2012, and later to Spotsylvania, VA. Samuel always provided to the best of his ability for his family.
On April 5, 2021, Samuel Lee went home to be with the Lord. He is survived by a devoted and loving wife, Mrs. Jacqueline Walker of Spotsylvania, VA; a daughter, Mrs. Joanne Rose Walker; a son, Sam Jr. (Elizabeth); grandchildren, Andrea Inez Hobbs, Jasmine, Anjenee Leigh Porter (Cortavius), Andrew Charles Hobbs (Aja), Victoria, and Alesia Jacqueline Renee Hobbs; great-grandchild, Danisia Natee Allen; a brother, Mr. Ronald Walker of Henderson, North Carolina; a sister, Ms. Darlene Walker of the Bronx, NY; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Samuel's family will receive friends from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2021 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 10719 Courthouse Road, Fredericksburg. The funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
