MICHAEL ROSE
(1958-2021)

Michael J. Rose, 63, of Eubank, KY, formerly of Olive Hill, KY, passed away on March 31, 2021 at his home. He was born January 11, 1958 in Ashland, KY, to the late Patsy Taylor Collins and the late Charles "Buddy" Rose. He leaves behind two sisters, Molly (Jason) Johnson of Eubank, KY, Eldora (Tony) Carter-Adamo of Fort Worth, TX, one brother, Jon Collins of Eubank, KY, and his God Child, Dachelle Lucas of Snellville, GA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Penny Carter.

As a teenager Michael spent his summers working at Carter Caves State Park. Before entering the United States Army, he served on the Olive Hill Volunteer Fire Dept. Later he worked construction for many years in Atlanta, Ga. It wasn't until later that he began his work caring for others as a CNA at Parkwood Rehabilitation Center. He retired after 25 years of service.

Michael returned to Kentucky three years ago to begin his fight with cancer. Even through the harsh treatments he still enjoyed life. He loved feeding and watching his deer, fishing, shooting guns and spending time with his family, especially his nieces, nephews and loyal side kick Charli. He will be greatly missed.

A Celebration of Life will be held April 10th at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, KY. The visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. Dana Lucas of Snellville, GA, Michael's best friend for 25 years will conduct the ceremony. Military Honors will be conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Honor Guard. His niece Samantha Rogers will honor him by singing the National Anthem.

The family would like to thank Lake Cumberland Hospice Center for the love and compassion they showed to Michael and the family during his last days.
