Joy Bennett, 83, of Lafayette, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021 at The Springs in Lafayette.
She was born on July 20, 1937 in Patricksburg, IN to the late Loris J. and Melva I. ( Purl) Biddle.
Joy attended Monitor High School. Her first marriage was to Carl "Bud" Light Jr. in 1953; they later divorced. She then married Donald Bennett and they too divorced.
Joy worked as a Clerk for Wells-Yeager-Best Pharmacy in Lafayette for many years.
She enjoyed reading in her free time. Over the years, she had several pets; Buttons, Sable and Buddy, that were very special to her. She enjoyed watching the grandchildren's activities and participating in and hosting family events.
Surviving are three children; three siblings; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren..
Joy was preceded in death by her brother, Richard; two sisters, Sue and Diana; and grandson, Kyle Light.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday at Soller-Baker Funeral Home, 400 Twyckenham Blvd, Lafayette. Service will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the funeral home with Rev. Alan Downing officiating. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette, IN.
