Mrs. Catherine Germann, nee Brandenberger, died at her home 2628 South Fair street, Monday morning, in her 81st year. She was born at Mandel, Kreuznach, Germany, and came to this county in 1838, settling near Smithton. She leaves three sons, one daughter and one stepdaughter. The funeral took place Wednesday to Darmstaedter cemetery, on Twelve Mile Prairie, near New Athens.
