Dixie was born September 8, 1931 in Provo, Utah to Lloyd L and Ruby Harper West. She married Clive L Beck, September 30, 1953 in Pleasant Grove. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
She was a daughter of Pleasant Grove and enjoyed her youth as a cheerleader, playing sports, and participating in the band as a drummer at Pleasant Grove High School. Her time in college was spent studying and cheerleading at Utah State University.
Dixie was very artistic, painting beautiful artwork for family and friends. She loved music, singing with a band during college and later conducting many choirs. She was civic minded working on many Strawberry Days Committees and Strawberry Days Pageants.
Dixie was always excited to visit the many countries in the world with Clive. They enjoyed the different cultures and beautiful landscapes.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and especially loved serving in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple.
She is survived by her four children: Pam (Kent) Allen, Scott (Kay) Beck, Kelly (Julie) Beck and Jeff Beck; son-in-law, Ray Thomason; nine grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clive; two daughters: Catherine and Elizabeth and her brother, Kaye West.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 12:00 noon in the Pleasant Grove Second Ward Chapel, 455 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove, Utah where family and friends may attend a viewing from 10:30-11:45 am prior to services. Due to ongoing Covid 19 concerns, masks and social distancing are recommended. For those who would like to watch the services from home, please follow the live stream stream provided above.
