This memorial was created by second great granddaughter Haley Hankins Fullhart ( see below) and this portion is written by her :
Second spouse Margaret is buried at Jones along with their son, daughter, and her son previous to their union. Margaret's son from previous relationship is unmarked. They don't have record of Margaret being buried there but her death certificate and obit state she is. The caretakers of Jones Cemetery state the records were not kept well before 1920.
There is a book on the history of Jones Cemetery of which states that son Andrew Johnson "John" Hankins was involved with the cemetery. He was even the janitor at the Pleasant Run Church located right next to cemetery.
Interesting enough, son Thomas Harvey was caretaker at Hawk Cemetery , and their records prior to 1920 were destroyed by fire. There is a SLIGHT possibility of burial there.
The 40 acer farm owned by Margaret Keesling Hankins Smelser was literally across the street from Jones Cemetery. If anyone is interested, contact the memorial creator who has maps of that area. A lot of research, effort, time and monetarial contribution was given in effort to help others (by the memorial creator) She contacted several descendants from both Thomas's marriages.
