Morris Edward Wood, Sr., age 88, of Crockett, passed away Monday, March 29, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Wood was born June 5, 1932 in Diboll to parents, Morris Elbert Wood and Dona Ardilla Jones Wood. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict and a Firefighter for the city of Houston for over 33 ½ years, before retiring. Mr. Morris was a member of the Central Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Elbert and Dona Wood; sons, Morris E. Wood, Jr., Randall Scott "Randy" Wood; sister, Billie Rae Windham and husband, Melvin.
Funeral services for Mr. Morris Edward Wood, Sr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 2, 2021 in the Central Baptist Church, Rev. John Goss officiating. Military graveside rites to follow at the Concord Cemetery.
