Richard A. "Ricky" Parks, 54, died March 27, 2021, in Celebration, Florida.

Mr. Parks was a lifelong resident of Fort Pierce, Florida.

He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marines.

Along with being a law enforcement officer for 32 years, Ricky was also a sergeant in training, road patrol, traffic, high liabilities instructor, many other instructor certifications, member of the Mobile Field Force, MCSO Honor Guard, Police Academy Instructor, MCSO Motor Unit, T.H.I. (Traffic Homicide Investigator), D.U.I. Specialist, Firearms Instructor, member of the Blue Knights Chapter 13, Certified D.R.E. (Drug Recognition Expert), MCSO Explorer Advisor, PBA Member, and 2013 PBA Officer of the Year and recipient of MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) award several times.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and rooting on the Dawgs. He always kept everyone smiling.

Survivors include his wife, Tammy Parks of Florida; children, Ricky Parks of Florida, Tori Parks of Tennessee, Robert Potter of Florida, Shelby Potter of Florida and Tiffany Potter of Florida; brother, Gary Parks of Kentucky; brother/cousin, James Ooley of Florida; grandchildren, Lance, Aidan, Amber, Elijah, DJ, Sofia, Whyatt, and Nina and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elev8hope, 3700 SE Salerno Road, Stuart, FL 34997.

Services: Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 2021, from 5:00-8:00 PM at Haisley Funeral Home, Fort Pierce. A service will be held on Thursday, April 1, 2021, at 11:00 AM at Pathway Church, Vero Beach, FL. Burial will follow at White City Cemetery.
