Daughter of Henry and Grace Wagher Pennington. She married Benjamin Peacock April 10, 1944. He preceded her in death December 31, 1950. She later married Donald W. Ascher, Sr. in Victoria, Ill., on Nov. 15, 1953. He preceded her in death Sept. 9, 2004.
She graduated from Victoria High School in 1941, Cottage Hospital School of Nursing in 1944 and later worked as a registered nurse at Cottage Hospital for 24 years retiring in April 1985. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and a lifetime member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Galesburg American Legion Post 285.
