Carol Lee Pickering Price
1929 - 2021

Early Life: Carol was born June 25, 1929, in Payson, Utah, to George Wayne and Adelia Will "Della" Ryan Pickering. Carol went to grade school at Peteetneet and Taylor Elementary schools in Payson. She moved to Nephi with her family in the 4th grade. She graduated from Juab High School, where she was a cheerleader and played the clarinet in the marching band. She then attended LDS Business College.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carol held callings as a temple ordinance worker, Primary president and teacher, Young Women advisor, and an awesome visiting teacher.
Her family was the most important thing in her life. It is impossible to love kids, grandkids, and great grandkids any more than she did. She would shop all year long at EVERY sale in the county so she could have plenty of gifts for the "Christmas" store she provided for the grandkids. She also loved to do yard work and flower gardens until she was in her late 80s.
Carol and Alvin owned and operated Price's Ice Cream Parlor for 16 years. Some of the other jobs she held were at Brigham Young University in the housing department, secretary, including typing and short hand, for a businessman in Salt Lake City, Payson High School in the resource department, and retiring from customer service for Nature's Sunshine.
Carol met Alvin while she worked at BYU; she was dating his roommate. Alvin needed to give her a ride one night and the love blossomed from there.
She lived in Provo on 1st South in the 7th Ward for nine years. They moved to 1600 North in Orem and lived there for 10 years. She then moved to West Mountain and remained there for 36 years until Alvin passed away. Her final move was into the home of Alyson and Brent for her last six years. During those final few years, she spent time with her sister, Sheila, for a couple winters in Arizona and for several months during the summer in Logan. Carol Lee Pickering Price passed away peacefully in Orem, Utah, on March 27, 2021, at home with her daughter, Alyson. She was 91.
Family Message: "The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Aspen Senior Day Center. Carol went to the center daily for several years. The staff is so caring and attentive. A special thanks goes to Dignity Hospice and their excellent, caring staff, especially her aid Marisela, and for Dignity hiring Carol's granddaughter, Torrie. Torrie, who was able to manage the care for Carol as her hospice nurse and was there for her when she passed. There is no finer hospice nurse than Torrie. Thanks also to the great staff at Berg Mortuary."
Survived By: Her children: Cynthia Whittle (Daniel), Alyson Brown (Brent), Holly Goodwin, Troy Alan Price (Laurel); 21 grandchildren; 55 great grandchildren; and her sister, Sheila Kendall Fortner.
