Gregory Jordan Wood went to be with the Lord at the age of twenty-six on March 23, 2021. Jordan was a talented athlete and brilliant student.
Jordan was born September 12, 1994 in Pensacola, FL. From birth, he was an "old soul" wise beyond his years and a protector of his brother. He always said "Hampton is my boy". They were best friends. Jordan always had a huge smile and twinkling eyes. Jordan's favorite hobbies were cooking and pin trading. He also loved going to Disney World. Jordan tutored students at CHS and FSU to help them achieve their life goals.
In 2013, Jordan graduated from Pensacola Catholic High School with honors. He was a member of the Math Honor Society and the National Honor Society. He lettered in track, weightlifting and football. Jordan was happiest playing football, beloved by his team, coaches and classmates.
Jordan chose to attend Florida State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences in Biological Sciences. He was always dressed in FSU colors and loved everything associated with the university. His most favorite pastime was going with his family to see his Seminoles play football. He was completing his Master of Sciences in cellular genetics when he went to be with his Lord.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Martha Rigdon.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, April 2, 2021 at McIlwain Presbyterian Church, located at 1220 East Blount Street, Pensacola, FL 32503. Visitation with the family begins at 11a.m. The service will begin at noon. The service is open to everyone. He will be laid to rest at Bayview Memorial Park, 3351 Scenic Highway, Pensacola, FL 32503 following the service. Friends are welcome to visit the family, following the services, in their home.
