Dave was a coal miner, retiring from Federal No. 2 mine. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, serving in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division. He was also an electrician and loved electrical work. He was a member of the UMWA, enjoyed riding four-wheelers, fishing, hunting, and sight-seeing. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Fairmont Ward where he held Melchizedek Priesthood. He loved the church and Temple, and also his grandchildren who were his life.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Suman Carman, whom he married Feb. 6, 1970 (sealed in the Washington, DC temple September 23, 1989); 3 daughters: Aimee Jane (Mickey) Thompson, Rivesville, Deanna Dawn (Charles) Neville, Farmington, Connie Vivian (Alfred Eugene) Sandy, Baxter; 6 grandchildren: Mardeana Sandy, Lashanda (Austin) Ryan, Teara Sandy, Devin Thompson, Crystal and Ashley Neville; a sister: Charlotte (Carl) Postlethwait, Metz; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by 2 sisters: Debbie Carman and Nancy Ott; and a brother: Kenneth Kyle Carman.
Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home, 3171 Husky Highway, Farmington, on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the time of the service with Bishop William Drennen and Bruce Hunter officiating.
