General Jackson Robinson, 90, of Corsicana, passed away on March 26, 2021. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 31 from 6-8 p.m. at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1 at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.

General Jackson, more commonly known to most as Jack Robinson, was born on February 27, 1931, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Sid and Ennis Oats Robinson, the youngest of eight siblings. Jack lived a full and very active life for 90 years. Jack married the love of his life, Billie, and they recently celebrated 69 years of marriage.

After serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, Jack and Billie settled in Houston, Texas, and raised their three sons, Jay, Barry, and Rodney. Jack worked as an office manager for many years and eventually became a plant manager in a support company for the railroad industry.

He also served as a part-time music minister at different churches and he and his wife had a nursing home and senior living facility ministry for many years. In 1978, Jack and Billie moved to Corsicana, Texas, to make a home and retire comfortably.

Jack was preceded in death by a son, Jay Robinson.

He is survived by his wife, Billie; sons, Barry Robinson and his wife, Sharon, and Rodney Robinson and his wife, Brenda; three grandsons; three great-grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews. B3

Jack had a favorite verse in the Bible which he kept true in his heart.
