Gladys Evaline Bailey

Gladys Evaline Bailey daughter of the late Evalena Stroups Chitwood and William Wayne Chitwood was born at Blair's Creek, Missouri, on October 8, 1925.
She departed this life at her residence in Reynolds, Missouri, on December 9, 2010, having attained the age of 85 years, two months and one day.

On August 25, 1945 in Ellington, Missouri, Gladys was united in marriage to Earvin Bailey and to this loving union eight children were born. Gladys was a member of the Calvary Baptist Mission. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, searching for treasures and playing the scratch off lottery. Gladys's greatest joy was cooking for and spending time with her family.

Gladys was preceded on death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Charlene Voyles, Sharon Parks, five brothers, Reynous, Jess, Alvin, Tince and Ott Chitwood, two sisters, Ivey Randolph and Martha Hart, and son-in-law, Pete Belk.

Gladys is survived by five sons, Leroy Bailey of Reynolds, Bob Bailey and wife Deatra of Potosi, Kenneth Bailey and wife Tammy of Van Buren, Anthony Bailey of Poplar Bluff, Roger Bailey and wife Kathy of Bunker, one daughter, Barbara Belk of Reynolds, 28 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren, and one sister Katherine Davis of Ellington. Gladys will be deeply missed by a host of relatives and many friends who will mourn her passing.
