Joanne "Jody" Martin, age 76, of Crestview, FL lost her fight with COVID March 25th, 2021 at North Okaloosa Medical Center, and joined her husband, who lost his fight just one week prior.
Jody was born 9/16/1944 in Peoria, IL. She attended Woodruff High School in Peoria, IL, and met her sweetheart through a blind date during her Junior year of high school. They were married for 55 wonderful years. She loved going to dances, playing games (especially Qwirkle), and quilted for many years. She made gorgeous quilts for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and so many other friends over the years. When her husband was writing books, she would take his hand written notes, and type them to submit them to the publisher. They had an amazing partnership. How fitting that they are together again, and we will be able to celebrate their lives together. This is truly the end of a beautiful love story.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jim Martin.
Visitation for Jim and Jody will take place Saturday, March 27th at 9am at Davis Watkins Funeral Home in Crestview, FL. Funeral will immediately follow at 10am. Burial will take place at Live Oak Cemetery in Crestview.
