Marie E. (Hagadone) Hicks, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 in Canandaigua.
Marie was born on March 29, 1947 in Wayland to the late Lyle & Margret (Gross) Hagadone.
Marie loved to garden and had multiple sprawling flower beds at her home and at "Camp." Mike & Marie made second home at their camp just north of Herkimer where they would enjoy the summer months with family and friends. As a devout Christian, Marie was also a long-time member of the Italy Naples Baptist Church in Italy where she called everyone a friend. More than anything, Marie loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and best friend & great-grandchildren, MaKayla Bennett who Marie would play with, watch get on and off the bus everyday and would walk the creek with.
In addition to her parents, Marie is predeceased by 8 siblings.
Marie is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Mike Hicks; her children: Shelly (Pat) Collins, Jeff (Amanda) Hicks and Duke (Karla) Clark; her grandchildren: Rachel (Jason) Lamphier, Matthew (Kelsey Briggs) Reed, Scott (Shelby Stryker) Jones, Michael (MacKenzie Northrop) Hicks, Abigail Smith, Ethan Smith, Kaiden Smith, Rose Clark, Duker (Melissa) Clark, & Kayla Clark; her great-grandchildren: Timothy, Matthew & David Lamphier, Makenna Reed, MaKayla Bennett, Sawyer Jones, Johnny Clark, Kinsley Clark; her sister: Henrietta Menz; and many friends.
Family and friends are invited to call from 1pm-2pm on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at the Italy Naples Baptist Church where funeral services will be held at 2pm. Burial will immediately follow in Italy Valley Cemetery. As a reminder, facial coverings, social distancing, & no-contact policies will be in effect.
