"JOHN BACKOUS. – John Backous, 73, pioneer of the Cambridge neighborhood, died at Iowa sanitarium, Nevada, early Friday as a result of an attack of pneumonia from which he was suffering when taken there Thursday noon. Mr. Backous who for many years lived on a farm east of Cambridge, had been living in Cambridge for the past three years. He leaves his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Harker Irving in Cambridge, besides many other relatives."
