She was born Nov. 18, 1910, in Cheyenne, Wyo., to John S. and Lorene Ramey Fair.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy Hunter of Rio; four grandchildren; and 12 great- grandchildren.
Two brothers preceded her in death.
She graduated from Monmouth College in 1957. She began teaching at Old No. 1 School in Henderson County and then taught for Galesburg School District 205 for one year. She was a teacher for Abingdon School District 217 for 15 years, retiring in 1976. She was a literacy volunteer in Galesburg for many years and received several awards.
She attended Bethel Baptist Church in Galesburg.
Burial will be in Oneida Cemetery in Oneida.
