Hannah Ellsworth and her husband (surname Bennett) had a daughter, Hannah Bennett, on 20 Jan 1780. She was raised by her grandparents after the death of her mother sometime after 1780. When Hannah Bennett was 18 years old, her grandfather Moses Ellsworth had to write a marriage consent in order for her to marry William Jackson on 7 April 1798 in Clarksburg, Virginia (now West Virginia). The marriage consent written by Moses Ellsworth stated: "... whom I have raised from a child and therefore think I have the best rite to give her a way as her mother is dead and her father lives a great distance from this place."

Proof that Hannah Bennett was a granddaughter of Moses Ellsworth and Anna Marie Henkel is found in her obituary, which states: "Mrs. Hannah, wife of William Jackson ... died at the residence of her son, Jacob Jackson, in Warren County, Ohio, February 20, 1855, in the seventy-sixth year of her age. Her maiden name was Bennett; her mother was an Ellsworth, daughter of Moses Ellsworth, .... She was born in Pendleton County, Va. and her mother died when she was an infant. She was taken and raised by her grandparents, in Harrison County, Va, where she was united in marriage with the husband who still survives."

Another proof (see the attached photo) is found in the genealogy book entitled "Ellsworth Genealogy, Male Descendants of Moses Ellsworth of North Carolina and Virginia," dated 15 Mar 1955, compiled by Harriet Ellsworth Siebert & Willard Ellsworth, M.D. This book contains the children of Moses Ellsworth and Anna Marie Elizabeth Henkel, as follows:

"2. HANNAH ELLSWORTH born in Rowan Co., North Carolina; married Isaac Bennett. Hannah died when her daughter, Hannah Bennett, born January 20, 1780, was quite young. The grand-daughter was reared by her maternal grandparents.

"3. Elizabeth Ellsworth born in Rowen Co., North Carolina, March 20, 1759; died ... on August 18, 1800, ... ; was married in February 1777 to Rev. Joseph Cheuvron, .... (etc.)
