MARS HILL – Harold F. Fletcher, 78, died May 14, 2005, at a Bangor hospital following a brief illness. He was born June 18, 1926, in Mars Hill, the son of the late John and Serena (Lockhart) Fletcher. He was a member of the Mars Hill United Baptist Church. Harold owned and operated trucks for more than 50 years. He was known by fellow truckers as "Dragon". Harold also owned and operated a restaurant and dairy bar business along with his wife, Eleta. At the time of his death, he was employed by Borderview Trucking of Blaine. Predeceasing him in addition to his parents, were three brothers, John, Avon and Ivan Fletcher; and a sister, Millicent Lyons. Surviving him are his loving wife of 61 years, Eleta (Collins) Fletcher; a son and his wife, Murray and Beverly Fletcher of Gorham; two daughters and their husbands, Judy and Richard "Diddy" Trecartin of Bridgewater, Heidi and Richard Woodworth of Robinson; and a sister, Zola Hill of Mars Hill. He is also survived by two special people, Donna Fletcher of Portland and Tim Larrabee of Blaine. Harold also leaves behind his special little shih-tzu, Joy Lee. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Richard G. Trecartin of Bridgewater, Joey Trecartin of Okinawa, Japan, Tanya Trecartin of New Hampshire, Holly and Billy Fletcher of Portland, Jenny Pillsbury of New York and Kristina Bradstreet, Kelsey and Karter Larrabee, all of Blaine; six great-grandchildren, many friends, fellow truckers, nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday, at the Duncan Funeral Home, Main Street, Mars Hill. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Dill officiating.
