Avon had worked at the A&P Store in Mars Hill for 18 years. He also operated Avons Coffee Shop in Mars Hill. Most recently he worked for Carl W. Smith Food Distributors Inc. for 16 years. He is survived by his wife, Alice (Dighton) Fletcher of Mars Hill, 1 son, Robert Fletcher of Presque Isle, 2 daughters, Paula Billings of Bangor and Patti Hopkinson of Moscow PA., 3 brothers, John and Harold Fletcher both of Mars Hill, Ivan Fletcher of Lees Summit, MO., 2 sisters, Millicent Lyons of Portage and Zola Hill of Mars Hill, 4 grandchildren, Ryan, Jerred, Caleb and Lindsay. Burial Kings Grove cemetery.
