Wednesday, August 3, at 9 a.m. Mass was said at ST. Joseph's Catholic Church for Viola Sanchez, 17, who died in an automobile accident in Kingman, Ariz. on July 29. Rosary was recited Tuesday, August 2, at 8 p.m. in the O'Donnell Funeral Home Chapel.
A student at the Barstow Union High School, Miss Sanchez and her family were well known in Barstow. She was born in New Mexico.
Survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Augustine Vallejos, Barstow; three brothers, Danny and Johnnie Sanchez and Augustine Gallegos of Barstow; six sisters, Mrs. John Chavez, Rose Ann Oliver, Pauline Gallegos, Cecelia Gallegos, Juanita Gallegos and Linda Marie Gallegos all of Barstow.
Interment was in Mountain View Cemetery here.
Mrs. Vallejos, Victory Homes, asked Barstow police to seek the aid of Kern County authorities in locating Edenio Sanchez, father of Viola. The father was last reported in DiGiorgio, California.
Mrs. Vallejos said she was unable to contact Sanchez and inform him of his daughter's death. Mrs. Vallejos was formerly married to Sanchez.
