Gary William Hamilton, age 51, of Channahon, passed away Thursday, March 18, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Joliet, the son of Gary and Gay (Kindelspire) Hamilton and a lifelong Morris area resident. Gary graduated from Morris Community High School, with the Class of 1988. He received his associates degrees in computer drafting and web development from Joliet Junior College. Gary was a huge sports fan and he enjoyed watching his sons compete. He loved the beach but most importantly, he loved spending time with family and friends.
Surviving is his loving wife of 25 years: Tammy (Campbell) Hamilton of Channahon; his three sons: Ryan, Jack, and Benjamin Hamilton all of Channahon; his parents: Gary and Gay Hamilton of San Tan Valley, AZ; his sister: Amy (Tim) Kozak of San Tan Valley, AZ; his in-laws: Terry and Ruth (Michaelis) Campbell of Palm Coast, FL; brother-in-law: Cory (Kim) Campbell of Marshall, IL; and uncle of Tyler, Julia, Gage, Chloe, and Claire.
As it was Gary’s request, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial gathering will be held Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deepath Drive in Morris from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A memorial service will be Thursday, March 25, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Face masks are required, social distancing and capacity requirements will be observed.
