Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Louise Black Timmons, age 93, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 21, 2021, at the Central Baptist Church, Springhill, LA, with Rev. Terry Hughes officiating. Interment will follow in Springhill Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home, Springhill.

Visitation will be held Sunday, March 21, 2021, from 1:00 pm until service time at Central Baptist Church.

Mrs. Timmons was born on November 27, 1927 to John Greer and Alice Pearl Barfoot Black in McNeil, AR and passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in Shreveport. She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church and was a retired school teacher with 25 years service teaching the 6th grade at Springhill Junior High and the Expanded Horizon Gifted Program at Brown Middle School. After retiring, she and Carroll enjoyed square dancing with the Town and Country Squares. They also traveled in their RV all over the United States and parts of Canada with a group of friends that they called the "Hobos" and the Woodchoppers Good Sam Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 71 years, Carroll E. Timmons, on January 24, 2017; son, Allen Wayne Timmons on February 17, 2021 and a sister, Francille Pierce.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda T. Bailey and husband, Jimmy of Shreveport; four granddaughters, Carole Pittman and husband, Paul, Cathy Hayden and husband, Paul, Carly McKenzie and husband, Jake, Kristin Timmons; seven great-grandchildren, Alexis McKenzie, Vaughn McKenzie, Grant McKenzie, Tyler McKenzie, Andrew Hayden, Connor Pittman, and Cole Pittman.

Pallbearers will be Jake McKenzie, Paul Pittman, Paul Hayden, Andrew Hayden, Kenny Miley, and Dennis Burns.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church at 504 W. Church Street, Springhill, LA, or a charitable organization of your choosing.
