Ruby Madeline Richardson, 87, died at 10:41 a.m. Monday (Feb. 26, 1996) at University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. She was born Dec. 25, 1908 in Fountain County, Ind., the daughter of Charles Andrew Allen and Clara Shoemaker Allen. She married Fred Owen Richardson on July 16, 1929. He preceded her in death July 28, 1962. She is survived by a son, Dale L. Richardson of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Pauline Hodge of Steubenville, Ohio, Fauniel Colson of Hillsboro, Ill., Frances Rodgers of Zionsville, Ind., and Marie A. Green of Chula Vista, Calif.; one brother Harold John Allen of Kingman, Ind.; four grandchildren, Monica Richardson and Jeffrey Richardson, both of Jacksonville, Fla., Steven Richardson of Concord, N.C., and Tracey Coburn of Middleburg, Fla.; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one brother. Madeline was a life resident of the Cates, Indiana area before going to live with her son in Florida in the fall of 1993. Services: 11 a.m. EST Friday, March 1, at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington, Ind. with officiating by Kenneth Majors. Burial: Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington; visitation: 4-8 pm EST Thursday at the funeral home.
