John Wallace Cleere, 63, of 308-3rd NW, a Lamar County resident most of his life, died Saturday. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Gene Roden's Son Chapel, with burial in Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Mr. Cleere was a retired mechanic. He was born Nov. 24,1911, in Russellville, Ala., the son of Malcolm Walker Cleere and Lutine Click. He was in the Navy during World War II.

Survivors include a stepson, Herman Wayne McMichael; four sons, James Cleere of Paris, John Cleere Jr. of Sacramento, Calif; Robert Cleere of Garland and Jack Cleere of Rockwall; one daughter, Mrs. Waldo Burress of Sacramento; two brothers, Dewayne Cleere of Irving and Rush Cleere of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. .Oscar Williams of Fort Worth, Mrs. Wirt Buster of Sumner and Mrs, W. P. Appel of Dallas; and four grandchildren. Mr. Cleere was found dead at his home Saturday afternoon, and Justice of the Peace Chester Oakes ruled death by natural causes.
