In 1966, he helped open San Marcos De Apalachee State Historic sight. He loved to tell everyone stories about the fort. He retired from the fort after 27 years. He was then able to help his family with their fish market help take care of his granddaughter, Tracey.
Bill also enjoyed fishing and hunting around St. Marks. Bill spent a lot of time walking around his beloved community. He loved to visit with neighbors and take cuttings from their flower bushes and trees.
He is preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Little Jack, Jim and Eddie Ward.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Marks Cemetery.
