Ina May Fulkerson, 81, Stark City, died at 12:48 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at an area nursing home, following a two-year illness.
She was born Dec. 18, 1925, in Stark City, to Chester Herman Ely and Edith Marie (Hawk) Ely.
Mrs. Fulkerson was a lifelong area resident and a homemaker. She loved her family and was a fantastic quilter. She worked as a sewing machine operator at Big Smith Mfg. for 30 years.
Ina married Melvin Russell Fulkerson on Oct. 12, 1943. He preceded her in death, Aug. 8, 2007.
Additional survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Myers, Stark City; a son, Melvin R. Fulkerson, Jr. and his wife, Preya, Deary, Idaho; three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, plus one due in November; a brother, James Ely, Piedmont, S.C.; and a sister, Dora Wilson, Denver, Colo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Clark Funeral Home Chapel, Granby, with Dr. Jerry Seigel officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery, Stella.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Maxwell, Bob Maxwell, Carl Francis Justin Dudinsky, Robert Fulkerson and Melvin Fulkerson, Jr.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, where the family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday.
