MISHAWAKA - A memorial service for Joyce Marlene Fickies, 63, of 309 Pin Oak Circle, Apt. 1-A who died at 6:32 p.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph Community Hospital after an illness, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Warner Funeral Home, Osceola.
Miss Fickies was most recently employed by the South Bend Medical Foundation and formerly was employed at the Elkhart Truth. She was born May 11, 1932 in Elkhart. She graduated with honors from Indiana University South Bend with a bachelor's degree in sociology.
"Marlene was the first administrator of the Fickies Trust which was established by her brother Lynn Fickies to provide for the college education of the children of his nieces and nephews. Marlene had 3 sisters: Marian, Elinore, and Lilah and another brother 'Bud' who died in WWII."
