Mrs. Ruth Bannister, 81, Dies
Mrs. Ruth Bannister, 81, a resident at the Masonic home in Franklin, died Thursday at Indiana university hospital at Indianapolis.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bear Creek Baptist church. Persons may call from 6 to 9 o'clock tonight at Hathaway-Morrison funeral home. Eastern Star services will be conducted at 7:30 o'clock tonight. Burial will be at Bear Creek cemetery.
Mrs. Bannister was born at Alert on April 30, 1889, the daughter of James and Belle Bowman Smitha. She was married to Emery Bannister who died in 1938. She was a member of the Alert Methodist church and the Alert Order of Eastern Star.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Belle Hammer of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Reba Thurston of 923 Seventh street and a brother, Harry Smitha of Westport.
