Interment will be in St. Anthony of Padua Cemetery in Krotz Springs. The Rev. Rocky Warden, pastor of Grace Community Lighthouse Church, will officiate at the services.
Mrs. Edwards was a native of Bayou Courtableau, a resident of Melville for 16 years, and had been a resident of Krotz Springs since 1985. She enjoyed cooking for her loved ones and always made sure everyone had a cold pop. Laura will be dearly missed by her friends and family.
Survivors include her daughters, Angella Varnado of Krotz Springs, Janie Neely and her husband, Kenneth, of Krotz Springs, and Virginia Bourgeois and her husband, Randy, of Pecaniere; her sons, Carl (Monkey) Varnado and his wife, Rebecca, and Charles J. Varnado and his wife, Darlene, all of Erwinville; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by first husband, Charles Varnado; her second husband, Paul Edwards; a son, David Keith Varnado; her mother, Mary Laura Charles; her father, Wallace Andrus; a brother, Earl Andrus; and a sister, Elsie Stelly.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Grace Community Lighthouse Church (9193 Hwy 105, Krotz Springs, LA 70750) until service time on Saturday at the church.
Pallbearers will be Carl (Monkey) Varnado, Kenny Neely, Alex Manuel, Titus Manuel, Brent Varnado, and Rhett Bourgeois. Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Neely and Randy Bourgeois.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Louisiana Hospice and Palliative Care, especially to Mrs. Laura’s nurse, Ms. Donnie, and also to her longtime caregiver, Carrie Neely.
