She was born March 22, 1909, in Chandler, Oklahoma, the daughter of A.C. & Fannie Nolen Adams.
Thelma attended Davenport School, but lived in Creek County most of her life.
She married George Sloggett on Oct. 2, 1929. She was a homemaker, serving as mother & grandmother for 72 years of her life. She was a cook & operator of the Pirate Inn in Bristow in the 1960s. She attended the Bristow First Assembly of God Church & loved gardening, crocheting, & being Grandma.
Mrs Sloggett is survived by 3 daughters, Donna Mae McGuire & her husband, Carl, of Depew, Annita Faye Schmidt & her husband Bennie of Bixby, & Billie Pauline Craig of Bristow, one brother Leo Adams of Texas, 2 sisters, Lena Curtis of Oklahoma City, & Mallie Earp of Cushing, Oklahoma. 13 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, as well as a host of other family & friends.
Mrs. Sloggett was preceeded in death by her husband, July 17, 1967; an infant son; 4 brothers; one daughter, Norma Grace Wright, January 15, 2001; & one great-granddaughter, Andrea Mitchell Bishop, June 8, 2001.
Services are at 10am, Jan 18, 2002 at the First Assembly of God in Bristow. Rev. Doug Samply & Steve Tiger will officiate. Interment is at the Bristow City Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Schumacher Funeral Home of Bristow.
