ing White, 85, who leaves 117 de-
cendants, died Sunday at 9 p. m.
at the home of her oldest daughter,
Mrs. Minnie Frost, Huntington.
Survivors are two sons, seven
daughters; 38 grandchildren; 56
g r e a t-grandchildren; 14 g r e a t-
great grandchildren.
Born Dec. 26, 1867 in Howard
county, she was the daughter of
James and Lucienda Downing.
Her marriage to Perry White oc-
curred July 29, 1883. They lived
near Monterey, Indiana, Starke
county, most of their married life.
Her husband died in 1939,
The couple were the parents of
14 children, five of whom died In
infancy.
Surviving children are: Minnie
Frost, Huntington; Bertha Mc-
Creary, of here; Clara Teems,
Markle; Charles White, Plymouth;
Floyd White, of here; Hulda Amos,
Gary; Iva Wentzel, Delphi; Gale
Kienny, Walkerton; Bernice Col-
lins, Hammond. Surviving brothers
are: Joe Downing, Star City;
Frank Downing, Winamac,
Friends may call at the Eiken-
berry funeral home, Peru,
until noon Wednesday when the
body will be taken to the Christian
church at Ora, Indiana where final
services will be conducted at 2
p. m, Wednesday. Burial will be
at a nearby Ora cemetery.
