Charles G. "Chuckles" Beckwith, 79, of Belpre died July 3, 2004, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Parkersburg, the son of the late John H. and Theresa R. Beckwith.
He had been employed at one time by Mountaineer Electronics and had retired from the United States Army after 22 years of service. He was a member of the Parkersburg American Legion Post 15 and was an avid golfer and sportsman.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Elizabeth Dobbins Beckwith of Belpre; his stepdaughter, Debbie Plum and her husband, Danny, and their son, Jonathan, of Belpre; his brothers, Robert H. Beckwith of Parkersburg, John H. Beckwith Jr. of Grafton, W.Va., Carl R. Beckwith of Vienna and Lewis Beckwith of San Antonia, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Beckwith and James H. "Jack" Beckwith.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg, with Pastor Wayne Terry officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memory Gardens with full military rites by the Parkersburg American Legion Post 15.
