"Elic" Rye was born 1843 in TN to William Monroe "Billy" & Nancy Ann Bowling Rye. He enlisted 3/1/1862 at Toll Gate, AL and served with the 26th Regiment, Co. B. AL INF. (O'Neals). He served throughout the war and was paroled at Military Ford, AL in 1865. He was discharged from service with the CSA in SC. Elic died 2/12/1913 Marion Co., AL
